Keep sensitive analysis on your Mac
Security software needs to understand what is happening on your computer. We’re developing PhantomProtect around local checks, using downloaded threat intelligence, file scanning and models that run on your Mac. The intended design keeps file-content analysis on your device.

Make suspicious activity easier to understand
PhantomProtect’s planned defenses cover supported file events, local domain checks and automatic matching against threat intelligence. When something needs your attention, the goal is to explain what was detected and give you useful choices.
The dedicated URL Filter is part of Protect’s planned scope and still depends on Apple approval and release validation.
Keeping information current
Know which connections support the protection
Local analysis still needs fresh information. Threat-data downloads, software updates, account services and optional contributions have different purposes. Planned private URL lookups also involve online services. We’ll document the information involved in each path before public access.
Optional telemetry is intended to remain off until you choose to share it. The product and privacy guide explains this distinction and will be updated as the release takes shape.
The work ahead
Build for changing threats
As the ways people use AI change, Mac protection needs to keep evolving too. Our approach is to develop local analysis that can help interpret suspicious behavior while keeping you informed. We will publish detection and performance results with their test conditions. AI features need evidence of their effectiveness.
