Keep the Explanation on Your Mac
PhantomGuardian is planned for macOS 27 or later on Apple silicon. Security-event explanations and prompts will stay on the Mac. Optional product telemetry is separate and will remain off until you explicitly opt into that category.
- ✓ Generate Locally: The plan calls for macOS 27 Foundation Models where supported.
- ✓ Match the Explanation to the Event: Guardian will choose an explanation that fits the question or event, without sending it to a remote service.
- ✓ Remember Preferences Locally: Adjustments will stay on the Mac. Prompts and security-event content will not be included in optional telemetry.
- ✓ Leave Protection to PhantomAgent: Guardian explains events; PhantomAgent makes the live protection decisions.

Planned styles will change how Guardian explains an event, not the underlying protection rule or threat decision.

- ✓ SPECTRE: Investigative explanations focused on how a suspicious event works.
- ✓ AURA: Encouraging explanations with everyday comparisons.
- ✓ Nyx: Brief explanations that keep routine details out of the way.
