A few things to know before you join.

When can I use PhantomProtect?

PhantomProtect is in development. No public build or release date is available yet. The launch list is the place to hear about development milestones, testing opportunities and public access.

How will I know a download is authentic?

Public builds will be signed and notarized before distribution. We’ll publish release-specific download verification details when access opens.

Which Macs will it support?

We’re developing for Apple silicon Macs. The wider suite and PhantomVault’s Finder integration target macOS 27. We’ll publish final requirements for each released module, including local AI requirements. No Intel build is currently planned.

Does analysis happen on my Mac?

PhantomProtect is being developed around local threat checks and on-device AI. The intended design keeps file-content analysis on your Mac. Updates, accounts, planned private URL lookups and optional contributions still involve online services. Our privacy guide explains the current direction.

What does the AI do?

Local models form part of PhantomProtect’s threat-analysis development. PhantomGuardian is being developed to explain security events using local models on supported Macs. Rules and downloaded threat intelligence also contribute to protection. AI features and their limitations will be tested before release.

Is PhantomWatch a firewall?

Watch combines network visibility with manual app and destination firewall rules. It is planned at no additional charge with each paid module. Protect adds automatic threat filtering. The dedicated URL Filter belongs to Protect’s planned scope and is still subject to Apple approval and release validation.

Do all six modules launch together?

No. PhantomProtect comes first, with Watch, Agent and Guardian as parts of its planned experience. PhantomVault is planned second. PhantomWipe and Protected Workspace are future work.

How will PhantomVault keep files private?

Vault is being developed with AES-256-GCM content encryption, a playable movie carrier and optional Dual-Key Protection using ML-KEM-1024 for additional key protection. The passphrase, keys and device security remain important. Independent review is required before public confidentiality reliance.

How does PhantomVault support plausible deniability?

Its optional carrier contains a real movie that can preview in Finder and play in a media player while the vault stays locked. This gives the file a credible everyday purpose and is designed to support plausible deniability during ordinary inspection. A specialist may still find unusual file structure or clues elsewhere on the device. Read about PhantomVault’s playable movie carrier.

What if I forget my vault passphrase?

The planned design has no server-side Vault-password reset. Keep your passphrase safe. Final recovery options, supported key modes and limitations will be documented before release.

Will PhantomWipe erase any file from an SSD?

The planned Protected Workspace concerns files encrypted under individual keys inside that workspace. It cannot retroactively erase earlier copies elsewhere. SSD behavior, backups, caches and recoverable keys remain limitations. This is future development work.

What will PhantomProtect cost?

The current targets are $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year in USD, with support for up to four compatible Macs. Pricing and inclusion may change before launch. A 14-day trial and a 30-day refund period are planned; final terms will be published before purchase is available. See all planned prices.
